Lynn Kuo
Founding Director
Lynn has been in the field of education for over 45 years, many of which were passionately spent here at Woodland Hills Private School—the school she founded with her own children, and now grandchildren, in mind. After earning her MS in Early Childhood Education at SUNY, New York, relocating to Los Angeles with her husband, and starting a family, Lynn wanted to find the perfect school for her young children. She had a vision for a school that was responsive to a wide range of cutting-edge educational research—not strictly mired in one single philosophy—a school that would provide an individualized learning experience while harnessing the power of collaborative learning and exploration. That vision led Lynn to start her own school at what is now the Collins campus. With Lynn’s leadership, the overwhelming support of families, and the dedication of staff, the school has continued to grow with the addition of elementary in 1990 and the expansion to the Oxnard Street Campus in 2000.
